We are pleased to announce the multi-year extension of contracts in nine European and African nations. These contracts complement De La Rue's overarching strategy for its Government Revenue Solutions (GRS) division, which enables governments and commercial organisations to protect their revenue streams against the damaging effects of counterfeit goods and illicit trade.
A two-year contract renewal was signed in Cameroon for the supply of a digital tax stamp solution for tobacco goods and wines and spirits via DLR Certify™. This extension builds on successful cooperation with the Government of Cameroon and the ongoing deployment of a GRS solution since 2010.
The Government of Sudan has extended its track and trace GRS contract with De La Rue for another ten years. This digital and physical tax stamp solution was introduced in 2014, enabling data analytics on each pack of cigarettes as it travels through the supply chain using DLR Certify™ and a unique code embedded in its tax stamp. This extension reflects the existing scheme's significant success in allowing the Government of Sudan to increase revenue collection while also helping to protect its citizens.
Industry organisations across the EU have also recently extended multiple contracts with De La Rue to provide security seals across seven European markets. De La Rue collaborates with government and industry groups to design and produce security labels that include a combination of overt and covert security features that are specifically tailored by individual Government Authorities. The continuation of these existing contracts has allowed De La Rue to manufacture and ship over four billion security labels for European markets during the past financial year.
