The Central Bank of Libya has issued a new polymer 20 Libyan Dinar banknote, designed, and printed by De La Rue on SAFEGUARD®.
This state-of-the-art polymer banknote conversion is part of an upgrade programme to enhance the security and durability of the 2013 series. This programme also included the upgrade of the 10 Libyan Dinar, with a 4mm PUREIMAGE™ security thread, earlier this year.
The new LD20 will incorporate the latest innovations in security features: Enhanced GEMINI™ Microtext, and an eye-catching holographic registered stripe with SPOTLIGHT™, PUREIMAGE™ and DEPTH™, featuring a portrait of Libyan national hero Omar Al-Mukhtar, dual clear windows, a secondary window with SPARK® featuring the star and crescent moon.
Ruth Euling, Managing Director Currency at De La Rue, commented, “De La Rue is honoured to be a strategic partner of the Central Bank of Libya. Our collaboration is built on a foundation of trust and a shared commitment to security. We provide secure and reliable solutions that uphold the confidence of the Central Bank and the people of the state of Libya.”
