Bank of Namibia reveals design of the new N$60 H.E. Dr. Hage G. Geingob commemorative polymer banknote.

The Bank of Namibia has unveiled the design of their new N$60 commemorative polymer banknotes, celebrating the life and legacy of the late president H.E. Dr. Hage G. Geingob. Designed by De La Rue, the new polymer banknote will be printed on De La Rue’s SAFEGUARD® polymer substrate.

This state-of-the-art commemorative banknote is not only more sustainable but also incorporates the latest innovations in anti-counterfeiting technology. It features two clear windows, with the main window depicting a complex portrait of H.E. Dr. Hage G. Geingob. Security features such as ARGENTUM™, a highly reflective mirror-like ink, and ILLUMINATE™, which builds up texture and intrigue around the window, along with Enhanced GEMINI™ that appears only under ultra-violet light, have been incorporated into the design to further secure the polymer banknote.

This banknote will circulate not just as legal tender, but as a lasting symbol of leadership, perseverance and the revolutionary mark he left on Namibia’s journey."
