De La Rue, the world’s leading anti-counterfeiting and security specialist for currency, identity and brand protection, announced today at the SDW conference in London, that it has joined the Secure Identity Alliance as a Board member.
Established in 2013, the Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) is dedicated to supporting the provision of legal, trusted identity for all and driving the development of inclusive digital services necessary for sustainable, worldwide economic growth and prosperity. The alliance brings together public, private and non-government organizations to foster international collaboration on the issues of legal identity, to help shaping policy and to provide technical and implementation guidance for national and international ID systems.
As the world’s largest commercial passport printer, De La Rue, which joined in November, will support and contribute to SIA’s mission to help government agencies and other public bodies to implement their digital Identity management projects and realize the wide range of economic, public health, electoral and sustainability opportunities offered by the shift to digital service provision.
De La Rue CEO Martin Sutherland said:
“Identity is a critical issue globally, and a core pillar of our growth strategy. Holding a position on the board of the SIA will offer us a great opportunity to share, discuss and uphold best practice and drive innovative approaches to sustainable implementations of digital ID projects with industry, governments, multilaterals and other stakeholders. We look forward to a new level of engagement across the industry”.
Commenting on the news, Frédéric Trojani, Chairman of the Board of the Secure Identity Alliance said:
“We are delighted to welcome De La Rue to the Association. Its established legacy of thought leadership and experience across both the physical and digital identity project implementations will provide vital insights during our own work, and help to guide the agenda as SIA continues to define and promote best practices in integrating digital identity security solutions into wider national plans for social and economic inclusion."
De La Rue has also today launched a new vivid, photo-realistic feature Photocolour UV™ at SDW, which provides easy verification and enhanced security for identity documents. This next generation security feature showcases De La Rue’s innovative design as it includes full, true colour UV with a life-like colour 3D effect and high definition imagery. The bespoke design can be integrated into the rest of the document and incorporates an invisible, high-tech and hidden feature.
