Bank of Thailand and the National Reserve Bank of Tonga win HSP Asia 2024 awards
Bank of Thailand and the National Reserve Bank of Tonga win High Security Printing Asia 2024 awards held in Bangkok, Thailand. Bank of Thailand win "Best New Commemorative Banknote" for the 100 Baht printed on De La Rue’s SAFEGUARD® polymer substrate, using the highest technology printing techniques to provide durability and prevent counterfeiting.
'Best New Banknote Series' security features
The National Reserve Bank of Tonga win "Best New Banknote Series" for their latest series designed and manufactured by De La Rue on paper and polymer. These banknotes incorporate state of the art security features, including:
- NEXUS™: A 18mm wide embedded micro-optic stripe on the T$100 note
- IGNITE®: A dynamic micro-optic thread with the "Drive" effect and denominational numeral, featured on the T$50 note
- PUREIMAGE™: A holographic thread on the T$20 note
- Transparent Windows: Present on the T$5 and T$10 notes, featuring a high-resolution gravure image, gold iridescence, and denomination-specific tactile embossing for the visually impaired. The T$5 and T$10 are printed on SAFEGUARD® polymer substrate
- Enhanced GEMINI™ and BLINK™: Level 2 UV security features and machine-readable features present on all denominations.
