The Storeman supports the Materials Management and Procurement teams through the stores by managing the area, keeping inventory to adequate levels and embraces the operational excellence strategy to keep improving the store as an area and function in such a way to provide better service to suppliers and internal customers. The Storeman will support when required with direct issues with suppliers and will facilitate the reorder process through the system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out efficient and effective operation of General Store, handle suppliers with incoming deliveries and report or communicate directly according to the nature of the raised issue.
  • Coordinate and control reordering of inventory via tools through internal systems including all possible transactions, in and out of the business.
  • Make use of lifting equipment provided to help within the day to day activity whilst maintaining same equipment to operational and visual acceptable standards.
  • Follow up of inventory orders and updating the Procurement team with any issues that might affect the shop floor due to lack of supply.
  • Accurate receipt of goods collated against delivery note and purchase orders.

Essential Skills:

  • Possess at least 'Intermediate' level of education
  • ECDL - Good knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Ability to interact with suppliers and internal customers
  • Logistics Experience would be an asset
  • Understanding of Kanban and reording systems
  • Be meticulous and manage own area through 5S princples and maintain top standard workplace organisation
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and scheduling software an asset.
  • Fast learner and independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.
