Key Activities:

 
  • Translate customer requirements and specifications into product standards.

  • Ensure products or services are delivered in conjunction with the control plans to ensure the product or service is conformant or defect free.

  • Improve product and service quality through performance monitoring & analysis; and report on improvement and corrective action activities as a voice of the customer process.

  • Support the Quality Manager in developing relevant KPI’s to measure the effectiveness of the area of responsibility ensuring KPI’s are aligned with the requirements of the business, site, and customers.

  • Effectively communicate within area of responsibility by cascading information, plans, priorities and providing feedback on KPI’s to team through meetings, 1-1’s, visible management systems and MBWA.

  • In liaison with Process and service functions, document FMEA addressing the risks associated with the product/service/process. Carry out the validation and verification process for all risks that have been reviewed on FMEAs.

  • Translate FMEA risks into control plans and ensure adherence to these plans throughout the processes.

  • Maintain compliance to APQP and stage gates system for the processes.
  • Instil a culture of problem solving to the team to ensure causes of internal customer complaints are identified and robust actions are introduced to stop reoccurrence and document learnings.

  • Take part in incident investigations, follow incident reporting protocols and document learnings.

  • Manage the Supplier Quality Assurance system of the incoming materials by coordinating the inspection of critical raw materials at receipt and coordinating raising of supplier corrective actions for non-conforming materials.

  • In liaison with processes, document job histories, carry out job closing meetings and develop action plans to address challenges experienced ahead of repeating the job in the next order.

  • Work with the processes to deliver quality improvements projects based on quality KPIs, and APQP methodology.

  • Execute utilisation and accuracy of the QIS system so as to drive data driven decision making.

  • Carry out equipment verification capability through measurement systems analysis in the processes.

  • Develop and document quality control work instructions, procedure and test manuals. Conduct compliance audits for factory processes, procedures and workplace organisation to ensure they meet business needs.

  • Responsible for the effective selection, training and development of employees in the area including coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

  • Support execution of new Innovation projects, with respect to product/service trials, Risk assessment/mitigation control.

  • Ensure all reports are appropriately managed and have current job description; PDRs, SMART objectives linked to business objectives; regular reviews of performance and development needs to enhance performance and capability; motivated and engaged and behave in accordance with the De La Rue values.

  • To support the behaviour of working as One De La Rue, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.

  • To ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs.



Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree.
  • Prior Experience in manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems e.g. ISO 9001 and subsequent upgrades is an added advantage.

 

Experience:

  • At least 3 years work experience in a manufacturing set up.
  • Experience of exploring and negotiating quality specifications with external suppliers.
  • Experience of applying quality tools for continuous improvements and developing that capability in others.
