Pre Press Process Operative (Laboratory - Grade V)

Selected candidates will be trained across the different sections in the department in the positions mentioned below and will be expected to work flexibly across the different sections according to the Prepress Department’s exigencies. The sections of the Prepress Department are (with a non-exhaustive simple description in brackets): Digital Platemaking (manufacturing of polymer plates), Intaglio Platemaking (manufacturing of nickel plates), Roller Room (recovery and finishing of schablon and wiper rollers), Ink Mill (manufacturing of ink) and Aquasave (ensuring timely supply of wiping solution to Intaglio presses).

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Use analytical techniques and instrumentation
  • Interpret data and adjust accordingly
  • Update PDCA boards
  • Carrying out routine checks such as Environmental Monitoring
  • There are standard procedures to follow
  • Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks

The above list is not exhaustive. You will be required to undertake other duties within your capabilities, consistent with this role, to support the needs of the business.


Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • O level, First Degree in Chemistry required, A level would be an asset
  • Good written and spoken English
  • ECDL
  • Basic knowledge in titrimetric techniques
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Be able to work on own initiative, as well as in a team
  • Experience in manufacturing operations
  • Technical aptitude, either formal or experiential
