Purpose of the role: 

The primary focus of the Perso Expert is to:

  • Provide and maintain personalisation printing software, programs, inspection hardware and perso hardware
  • Provide customer data for the shop floor using secure database interactions
  • Run and analyse the planning programme of the customers including forecasting of sales
  • Set up, configure and act as an on-site administrator for multiple secure numbering systems using different database structures
  • Administer and control the process flow of secure and sensitive customer data
  • Liaise with central IS and third parties with respect to new systems and integration between different hardware
  • Assist and work with customers on new projects, parts and products
  • Support NPI and R&D trial requirements
  • Assist and support the business in any technical areas of personalisation and inspection
  • Develop new methods for efficiency gains within the production environment
  • Assist in the transition to new personalisation technologies
  • Support Personalisation FLM and Production FLM with day to day activities (e.g. Reports, production support, etc.)
  • Deliver performance to agreed quality, cost and delivery targets, using relevant Lean Manufacturing Tools and actively drive Continuous Improvement to improve quality and production efficiencies
  • Deliver and support short and medium term plans for the area which seek to achieve CI through the use of innovative ideas and new technologies.
  • Responsible for the effective training and development of employees in the area including coaching and mentoring of end users
  • Support the behaviour of working as One De La Rue, sharing best practice, fostering networks and collaborating with colleagues across the business to resolve issues


Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Undergraduate in IT, Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong ability in mathematics
  • Knowledge and capability on object orientated languages, C# preferred
  • Knowledge of scripting techniques
  • Knowledge of various operating systems including legacy ones
  • Database knowledge, SQL minimum, other structures advantageous
  • Experience setting up hardware systems and their associated software
  • Knowledge of camera-based inspection systems considered a plus
  • Experience integrating hardware and software
  • Interest in Industry 4.0 considered a plus
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
