New Product Introduction Manager

The aim of the role is to lead a team of technical staff to work with R&D, bid teams and AME to develop, cost, approve and release new products into production in the most cost efficient and effective manner, right first time and in line with the standards of machine performance, material usage and yield/waste as defined in the product cost estimates and in line with the group strategy and product road maps for the respective product line.

This role entails a full spectrum of responsibilities all the way from supporting R&D and AME in product and process development, co-ordinating the trials in the factory to industrialise the new products, establishing specifications and standards up to approving and releasing the new product into full scale production. It also incorporates the development and ownership of the product cost estimates as well as product related VA/VE activities prior and after production launch as part of the continuous improvement process to continuously improve unit cost.

 

The selected candidate will:

  • Possess a relevant degree in engineering or business management. Technical diploma will also be considered if supported by relevant experience

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing industry

  • Be experienced in data driven decision making and strong analytical problem-solving skills

  • Ideally have process and product knowledge on PA&T, PC and Passports processes

  • Ideally have Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  • Have experience/exposure to Value Adding and Value Engineering & Advanced Product Quality Planning an asset

  • Have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and scheduling software will be considered an asset.

  • Be committed to lead, coordinate and supervise cross functional team efforts and ability to work across cross boundaries with head office and customer facing teams.

  • Be an independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision.

  • Be a fast learner with the ability to work well under stress

  • Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skill
