Focused primarily on the Production business unit, this role is a Front Line leadership role responsible for the SSQCDP Management, and People development within this business unit.  The Front Line Manager (FLM) will lead, control and coordinate activities related to people, product, and process within this area, driving strategic plans for the assigned business unit, and empowering high performing teams to drive performance, and effective and efficient utilisation of equipment.

  

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive SSQCDP Management through the Shop Floor Management System
  • Drive QCDP Focus through Kaizen and Lean Thinking
  • Drive Process Confirmation
  • Drive OPEX level achievement
  • Drive Management of top KPIs
  • Drive Structured Problem Solving activities
  • Apply Manufacturing techniques (SMED, 5S, VSM, Kaizen, Kanban etc.)
  • Manage Manufacturing plans and commitments for assigned areas
  • Embed HPT within assigned areas
  • Manage and address Business unit Skill Matrix gaps (Manage and execute  training plans)
  • Be change agent
  • Drive A3s and QOS charts
  • Safety and Secure culture
  • Drive a Tour ready factory

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Technical or Management or equivalent experience in manufacturing operations or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate manufacturing techniques including lean manufacturing
  • Technical aptitude, either formal or experiential
  • Quality assurance awareness
  • Problem Solving acumen
  • 8 wastes and Continuous Improvement expertise
  • Trained in Operational Excellence
  • Understanding of budgetary controls and variance analysis within an operations environment
  • Ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop people in a team environment
  • Conversant with MS Office platform
