We Implement Best Practice Standards

As the largest commercial security printer in the world, we take our responsibility seriously. We recognise that our influence can help ensure that international standards and best practice become the norm. De La Rue prides itself on operating to the highest ethical standards and strong practices, and takes seriously its responsibility to manage the business in an ethical way.

Working within a robust ethical framework, De La Rue’s commitment to doing the ‘right thing’ every time and all the time is embedded throughout the organisation.

Within the varied sectors and geographies that we operate, it is essential that De La Rue maintains the trust and confidence of customers, partners, investors, and all stakeholders, both inside and outside the organisation, by demonstrating complete integrity in the way that we and our business partners behave.

A brief overview of some of our rigorous internal processes and external audits are outlined below:

  • The De La Rue Ethics Committee is responsible for advising the board on the development of strategy and policy on ethical matters
  • The De La Rue Code of Business Principles sets out our core values and standards and is the foundation of our ethical framework
  • All employees and business partners are without exception required to follow the Code of Business Principles

Focused on nine core areas, the Code provides guidance and policy on right behaviours in areas such as bribery & corruption, conflicts of interest and competition & anti-trust as well as gifts & hospitality, records & reports and employment principles.

  • Ethics Champions have been appointed at each site
  • De La Rue operates CodeLine, a confidential and independently-run third party service that allows anyone to report or raise concerns
  • De La Rue was one of the founding companies of the Banknote Ethics Initiative and a board member of the Secure Identity Alliance
  • De La Rue also supports and works closely with the Institute of Business Ethics
