Portals Expands Sales Team

News Release : 30 January 2007

Portals Bathford has appointed a Sales Director, David Williamson, as part of a series of moves within the company to focus on new as well as existing markets.

David moves to Portals Bathford from his position as Export Director of Stora Enso, the world’s second largest paper company, and has been in the paper industry since 1976.

General Manager Michael Bryant comments, “David’s experience of growing businesses and his strong strategic planning skills make him a good choice for Portals Bathford at this point in its development. We are responding to the challenges of the market place by looking to diversify our customer base with an expanded range of niche, high value security paper products.”

David is keenly aware of the opportunities available to the company; “The high security paper products manufactured by Portals Bathford over many decades have rightly given this company a strong and well-respected position in the global market. In many ways the security challenges haven’t changed, though they have become more sophisticated, but increasing numbers of different documents are falling victim to threats of counterfeit and fraud. This represents a sunrise opportunity for us.”

Sarah Gregg has also been appointed, in a Sales Support position, and these moves build on the appointment of Business Development Manager Philip Isaac last year, joining Sales Manager Graeme Dunn, American Vice President, Sales, Cliff Nelson and Customer Support Manager Amanda Hatto.
