De La Rue Rings the Changes With the Launch of QC™

A quick and simple coin deposit innovation represents a new concept in retail banking

De La Rue Cash Systems today announces the launch of QC™, the fast, new, self-service coin-deposit solution, which does away with the need to pre-sort deposits or stand in teller queues.

In a bid to help retail banks to engage further with customers whilst providing a compelling service to consumers, QC represents a valuable service which will end the need to deposit coins over the counter, help reduce queue waiting time, improve teller productivity and enhance the customer in-branch experience.

QC™ utilises De La Rue’s proven MACH® sorting technology, debris removal and authentication are provided by the unrivalled High Performance Coin Detection HCD™. QC™ comes available with two coin management solutions; bag or bin, depending upon the receptacle method which best supports local market conditions. The auto-feed system allows safe and continuous processing, either sorting coins into individual denomination bags or into mixed coin bins, whilst automatically rejecting foreign objects and counterfeit coins.

Commenting on the benefits the product will provide to banks and consumers, Global Product Manager Lisa Howard said: “QC™ is a new and exciting way for retail bank branches to meet their objective to increase customer and non-customer visitations, build relationships, and promote valuable services. The QC™ cabinet can be configured to hold either 12 bags or 2 bins. Coin bags are ideal for banks wanting to recycle coins in branch or alternatively, transport it to a cash deposit centre in standard quantities. QC™ Bin variant provides increased storage capacity of up to 70k mixed coins, and is easily and conveniently transported by the CIT company. For teller assistance an illuminated blue light on both sides indicates when bags or bins are nearing capacity allowing the machine to be serviced at a convenient time. Amber lights on both sides then indicate when a bag or bin has reached full capacity and needs to be serviced immediately.

The launch of QC underpins De La Rue’s drive to support retail banks in delivering valuable, enhanced services which help retain and attract customers whilst alleviating the burden of over-the-counter coin handling.
