NEW DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

De La Rue, the cash to secure transactions Group announced today that Graham Maundrell is to join the company as Group director of human resources on 23 April 2001. Reporting to chief executive, Ian Much, he will concentrate on advising the Group on all aspects of HR strategy with particular emphasis on management development.
Mr Maundrell, 49, was previously Human Resources Director for Europe at United Distillers and Vintners (UDV), a subsidiary of Diageo plc, with revenues in excess of £1 billion and over 2,000 employees, spread across nine European countries. Soon after joining UDV in 2000, his main focus of activity was supporting the integration of the business with the Guinness brewing company. More recently he has been leading the HR stream at Diageo in their successful joint bid with Pernod Ricard for the Seagram Spirits and Wine business.
Mr Maundrell has held a number of high profile HR positions with large multinational plcs. These have included a period as Director of Human Resources at Perkins Engines, a division of Lucas Varity plc. For six years prior to that he was Group Human Resources Director at APV plc, the supplier of process systems and automation to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
Commenting on his appointment, Ian Much, chief executive said:
