Hologram Solutions for Brand Owners

De La Rue Holographics designs, originates and manufactures Optically Variable Devices (OVDs) that can be identified at first glance for their quality and imagery and are known to provide unbeatable levels of security. We specialise in classical holography. This means that our clients' holograms incorporate stronger colour shifts, sharper high-resolution, high-contrast image-switching three-dimensionality and visible depth. The benefits of this approach mean that the OVD protecting your brand is:

  • Simple, easy to understand and quick to verify
  • Distinctive, describable and easy to explain and unambiguous

Only very few suppliers in the world today have classical holography capability. Our solutions are used by global brands and governments to protect industries which include

  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Automotive parts
  • Music
  • Technology
  • Alcoholic drinks
  • Sporting events

Our brand protection holograms offer distinct levels of security with in-built track and trace systems to prevent counterfeit.

Typical De La Rue brand protection solutions include:
Pharmaceutical industry

De La Rue has developed a tamper evident solution for Bayer that has been used to protect diagnostic brands.

Automotive industry

Counterfeit of automotive parts is a real threat to the car industry and De La Rue works alongside manufacturers like Renault, Ford and Volkswagen to help them protect their brands, safeguard their investment and protect the public from potentially dangerous, fake car parts.

Drinks industry

In Latvia, the Ministry of Finance required an excise stamp for imported and alcoholic drinks to authenticate and confirm the duty had been correctly paid. The stamp was highly secure against counterfeit, yet easy to apply by local producers and importers.

De La Rue provided a solution incorporating a tamper evident label with a 'track and trace' system, enabling verification by tax inspectors and the public at point of sale, storage or import.

Music industry

In Eastern Europe, we work with an Association founded to protect the commercial interests of the music industry against counterfeit, piracy and loss of performing rights. One of its key components is a holographic tamper evident label that is applied to CDs and cassettes.

The results are very encouraging, the proportion of the music sales market commanded by counterfeit products has already dropped from 90% to 22%.
